Agiba; meaning ‘wonder’ or ‘miraculous’ in Arabic, fully deserves its name. Situated 24km west of Marsa Matrouh is the most striking of all the beaches on the north coast. The beach, more of a cove, is accessible via a path leading off a cliff top. Surrounded by dramatic rock formations, the beautiful is very tiny. To get to the cal clear turquoise water, the adventurous traveler can dive off rocky shelves protruding into the sea. Be careful!

Off shore, of interest to deep sea divers, lie the wrecks of a sunken Roman galley and that of a German submarine.
