If you are travelling with a tour you will most probably be taken there, if not, head down to Pyramid Road, turn right at the Maryeta Canal Road and follow the road for 5km until you get to the village. The village pretty much consists of one street turned into a shopping area. There you will find shirts made out of Egyptian cotton, gallabeyas, scarves and carpets in addition to the usual touristy objects.

Wissa Wassef wanted to preserve the village crafts and create employment so he created the WISSA WASSEF ART CENTER where children learn to weave and design carpets. The carpets available go from rustic and reasonably priced efforts, to truly exquisite and pricy creations.
